I am now half way through my apprenticeship and I am delighted to announce that I have completed my coursework six months early!
With hard work and determination, you really can succeed. I never thought I would love a career so much, but PR has truly been the making of me.
From the beginning of 2016 to now, I have learnt new skills and thoroughly enjoyed every piece of work completed; this consisted of:
- Understanding Public Relations
- The use of the written word
- The Creative Process to Generate Ideas
- Understanding the Media Landscape
- Planning, delivering and evaluating PR campaigns
- Pitching to the Media
- Researching and Analysing Data
- Plan and Organising Meetings
- Blog Production Skills
- Search Engine Optimisation
- Brand Strategies
- The use of Social Media within a Business
Kicking off your career with an apprenticeship is a great way to get a head start in the field you want to work in. Apprenticeships enable you to start working and earn a decent wage while you learn key skills and gain the qualification that future employers want. I gained the opportunity to work for Changeworks Communications in Stafford where I am involved in public and media relations, marketing communications, social media, internal communication, content marketing, video and photography and PR and comms training.
Why be an apprentice in the PR and marketing industry? You really can be the best. When you start an apprenticeship, you will learn to do the work you love and have the chance to gain a qualification that will take you further into your career – everyone wants to hire the best! Jobs that start with an apprenticeship are highly skilled, and they are high in demand. After all, not everyone can do one of these jobs! It takes specialised training, which you will gain through your apprenticeship.
